Gary Ablett Jnr - Geelong's outright superstar is regarded by many as the best player in the AFL. Apart from a few games missed through injury, Gary dominates the game every time he plays and was a deserved winner of the 2009 Brownlow Medal.
Nick Dal Santo - The star St Kilda midfielder was in career-best form in 2009 and finished equal 5th in the 2009 Brownlow count.
Chris Judd - The Carlton captain, winner of the 2004 Brownlow Medal, was in rare form in 2009 and had another outstanding season, finishing 2nd in Brownlow voting.
The Brownlow Medal is the official "best and fairest" award of the Australian Football League. Votes are awarded by the umpires at the end of each match of each round of the regular season. At the conclusion of the regular season votes are totaled and the best and fairest player is announced prior to the AFL grand final.
