For each round of the AFL season,
the AFL selects the best three AFL marks as
nominees for Mark of the Week. A panel of AFL
All-Australian selectors then choose the winning
Mark of the Round. At the end of the season,
one Mark of the Round will be selected as the
official Mark of the Year.
In 2006 the AFL has updated the
voting system to include a fan poll, where
fans vote for their favourite AFL marks. This
fan vote is then combined with the expert panel's
vote to get the final result for each round.
